Perseus Realty and Starwood Capital Group are co-developing the "1" Hotel, the District’s first eco-luxury hotel; in addition to a LEED Silver certification the project will emphasize water, energy and material conservation while still providing the service and comfort expected of a five star hotel. The "1" Hotel, Washington, the brand’s flagship, will have 150 rooms and 29 suites, a signature restaurant featuring local cuisine, and an organic day spa and rejuvenating fitness center with dedicated space for mind-body wellness. In addition, 1% of hotel operating profits will be donated to regional environmental organizations under the guidance of the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The "1" Hotel, conveniently located in the West End, is scheduled to open late 2010.
