14W will be a new mixed-use building with 13,000 sq/ft of ground floor retail space; 45,000 sq/ft of state-of-the-art athletic facilities, including a pool, basketball court, and child care facilities, all to be owned and operated by the YMCA; approximately two hundred thirty apartments on six floors; and 180-200 below grade parking spaces.
The selection of Perseus Realty to redevelop the historic Anthony Bowen YMCA was determined by PR's assembly of five historic townhouses along 14th Street, the creation of a substantial street presence for the YMCA using prominent signage while simultaneously providing ground floor retail space, and by garnering approval for a 230 unit apartment building in the "low density" Cardoza-Shaw neighborhood.
